(Finally) On Facebook

What can I say?  There really is no excuse.  It’s a small shop here a C-1.  We concentrate quite heavily on face to face human- type networking and we have been plotting and planning how we would shape our image via social media.  We have come a long way in 5 years as a company and we are just getting to that point where we want to announce ourselves to the world!  Most of our time is spent connecting with people in real life and listening to their ideas. This is what we have prided ourselves on over the past few years.  We understand that people have had bad experiences working with people in this industry.  We know that web developers are typically hard to contact, never answer the phone, disappear near deadlines, and work strange hours.  That’s why we always tell people to call us.  We will pick up the phone, we will answer you on Skype or iChat, we will respond to your email by the next business day, and we will always return carrier pigeons promptly- weather permitting.

This is where Facebook comes in.  We will use it more to connect with people and share our ideas, not so much for promotion.  We understand that most people are not interested in our rather geektastic pursuits which is why our FB page will likely be promoting other peoples projects and highlighting what we think is shaping our future landscape in society.  Because let’s face it, web development now affects every aspect of our lives.

With that said, enjoy our musings and the occasional stupid joke and “Like” us in the right sidebar of the blog.

MyNorthSeattleHome.com

6 Sep

We just launched http://MyNorthSeattleHome.com- The informative and playfully designed site of Seattle Real Estate expert Conor MacEvilly.  We designed and developed the site with Conor’s idea of having something equally loud and memorable as it is useful.  We teamed up with Terry Macintosh at IDXNW who built an amazing API that lets us search for Seattle Area homes within the site all while utilizing WordPress as a content management system.  The site is full of useful tidbits about buying and selling homes in Seattle.  Take a look for yourself!

CASE- PAC

CASE

We just finished the final touches on developing a site for CASE, a Political Action Committee.  We took the designs and implemented them into our Genus Online Business Solution.  This enables the board at CASE to update the site with new information as well as control their e-commerce donation system.  We will be adding new features in the coming months and are very excited about the potential of this project.

Group Health Wall

Group Health Foundation gift of health wall

We are ecstatic to announce the launch our most recent project for the Group Health Foundation.  The Gift of Health wall engages Group Health’s supporters by having them answer the question and post it on the wall.  We designed and developed this site for the WordPress content management system.  The client has full control over comment moderation and website management.

Into My Own Update

Alicia McLucas at IntoMyOwn.com wanted to rebrand her company and target a new demographic with her life coaching and mentoring programs.  Luckily, we developed her website in the beginning with the WordPress platform. The entire site was able to be easily updated.  We change the page titles and updated the imagery to reflect her new idea.  This is a shining example of the benefits of building a custom WordPress theme compared to working with no CMS or even other platforms.  Starting with a good foundation can save you a lot of time and money in the long run!

WordPress.com Passwords

13 Apr

Do you have a blog hosted at WordPress.com? If so make sure you go in and change your password. There was a small security breach detailed here: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/04/13/security/ It doesn’t sound like a major security threat but it doesn’t hurt to take a bit of precaution. If you are running WordPress on your own server there is nothing to worry about. Happy publishing!
