This month we helped Crisanta in the Philippines with a loan for her general store in Manila. Crisanta needed a loan to stock her store which is located adjacent form her house.  Her store is a lifeline for the community and most of her customers are also her neighbors.  Would you like to try Kiva for Free?  Go here and make a free loan http://www.kiva.org/invitedby/creation1

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) San Diego is holding a 5K walk to stomp out mental illness on April 21st.  We are proud to have sponsored our favorite walker and encourage you to do the same. The walk will help raise awareness and funding for NAMI who help patients and their families through support meetings, classes, and raise awareness of mental health issues within the community.  Check out their website http://www.namisandiego.org/ for more information about the services they offer. Kiva: Sivorn Nim

23 Feb

Kiva loan headshot

We just contributed to a loan for Sivorn Nim of Cambodia to expand the inventory of her store.    One of our favorite things about Kiva is how easy it is to re-donate money once the loan recipient has payed you back.  Once you work up to a certain amount of loans, you are constantly helping people every month!

Congrats To The Productive

6 Jan

A project we recently supported on Kickstarter just reached 100% funding!  The Productive is a Co-Working space in NYC for animators. We think the concept of working together with your peers in an open environment can only lead to great things. We hope to see out a project like this someday ourselves. If you are in NY and interested in The Productive and what they are all about check out their website http://theproductivenyc.com

Microloan for Araceli

7 Dec

Kiva for Araceli
We have once again utilized Kiva to contribute to a promising entrepreneur.  This time it’s Araceli in Mexico who is using her loan to purchase stock for her clothing store. Kiva is full of so many entrepreneurial stories from around the world.  I highly recommend browsing the site and contributing to better the lives of others.  It may just brighten your day, ya never know!

Stoves For Haiti

5 Dec

The Adventure Project has once again caught our eye. This time with their holiday stove campaign.  There are .5 million people still living in tents after the earthquake.  These stoves will provide some much needed help for the people to cook their own food and stay warm at night.  For more information and donation info go to The Adventure Project

The Mural Project

10 Nov

Another kick ass Kickstarter Project we are supporting is called The Mural Project. This project will help empower children through art in countries where children are often working instead of being kids. If you have an itch to support a good cause, head on over to Kickstarter and learn more about the project here!

A Liter of Light

We contributed to this amazing project yesterday called Isang Litrong Liwanag which translates to A Liter of Light.  This is a case of how a good idea can sit right under your nose.  Watch this short video about the project and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
